Rodney Montag

Rodney has been in the home building field his entire career, first as a builder, then as a developer then as an investor.  Trained as an architect, he has purchased, financed, entitled, developed, built and/or sold over 100 projects totaling approximately 40,000 residential units.   Rodney is the CEO and Managing Partner of RAM, having found the company in 2014.  He is responsible for the day-to-day oversight of the business including new business origination, capital raising, and investor relations. Prior to forming RAM, he was the Managing Director of Mountain Real Estate Capital where he was responsible for opening the New York office focused on new business origination and capital market needs. Before Mountain, he started a real estate investment platform at Cantor Fitzgerald to take advantage of distress opportunities that occurred in the recession that started in 2008. 

From 1996 to 2008, Rodney was a partner at Spectrum Communities where he ran the land acquisition and development group and coordinated the company’s sale to WCI Communities in 2004. He was a key member of the management team that grew Spectrum from a $25M local homebuilder to a $250M regional subsidiary of a public company. He had spent the first 10 years of his career building and developing apartment buildings in New York City and suburban master plans for Procida Construction and Development.

Rodney graduated from Washington University in St. Louis with a BA in Architecture and is an active member of the Urban Land Institute.

 

 

Matt Matteson

Matt is Senior Vice President of RAM, responsible for identifying, underwriting and ongoing asset management of the firm’s equity investments in residential development projects nationwide. 

Matt has spent nearly two decades in the real estate business, spanning both residential development and private equity.  Prior to joining RAM, Matt spent 5 years at Toll Brothers’ Connecticut Division, working on new land acquisitions and managing project operations with P&L responsibility.  During his tenure at Toll, Matt oversaw the sales and construction of 300+ homes, representing over $130 million of revenue.

Prior to Toll Brothers, Matt was Assistant Vice President and Asset Manager at Liberty Street Real Estate Group, the Atlanta based asset management affiliate of Lehman Brothers Real Estate Partners.  There, he managed a portfolio of private equity investments in residential land development, condominium and commercial development joint ventures with equity commitments in excess of $250 million.  His early career includes project management for boutique homebuilding ventures on the East Coast and direct sales for a start-up information technology services company.

Matt earned both his B.S. in Applied Economics and Master of Professional Studies in Real Estate from Cornell University. 

Joe Callaghan

CFO

Joe Callaghan is responsible for all financial affairs of the company.  He manages the cash flow and creates all weekly or monthly financial reports. Joe creates and manages all company budgets and oversees the accounts receivable and account payable functions. As a CPA, Joe also supervises our accounting team for project audits, financial statements, and tax returns. 

He has a broad background including providing a full spectrum of financial, accounting, tax, and ancillary services to a wide variety of industries including entertainment and music clients, that range from touring and music publishing to television production companies.

Joe has professional affiliations with the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, New York State Society of Certified Public Accountants, Association of Independent Music Publishers (AIMP), MusiCares and the Songwriters Hall of Fame.

Joe graduated cum laude in accounting from Stonehill College, Massachusetts.
